Somehow my firstborn has gone from being all cuddles and curls to being tall and tweenaged. She's still giggly and gorgeous and will always be my little girl but taking these photos for the 10th birthday really shows just how fast they grow up and how important it is to take photos and capture memories… Continue reading Where does the time go?

Exploring Welsh Woodlands
During our recent trip to the UK over the summer, we were lucky enough to spend a week in Wales. It really is a beautiful part of the world and our little ladies loved exploring the woodlands at Betws-y-Coed in the north. A gorgeous place to spend some time.
Black and white challenge
This last week a friend nominated me to take part in one of those online 'challenges' through Facebook. This time it was a 7 day black and white photo challenge. I figured it was worth a try, I'm trying to get back in the habit of taking photos everyday and thought it would be fun… Continue reading Black and white challenge
Hailuoto for Midsummer
As has become something of a tradition for my family, we headed across to the island of Hailuoto to mark Midsummer. While it was the sunniest day we've had for a little while, it wasn't the warmest weather we've ever known. We did brave the sea, the girls and I, for a swim but the… Continue reading Hailuoto for Midsummer
Happy Midsummer! Hyvää Juhannusta!
Happy Midsummer everyone! Hoping the sun shines on you at some point this weekend!
Spring is in the air at last
We headed to Ainola Park today and when the wind dropped with the sun shining...it definitely felt like spring was finally in the air. And surrounded by green buds and other families enjoying the weather, it seemed a shame not to indulge a little treat in the sunshine. Fazerina ice cream. Bliss!
Ballet Babes
The girls had their last lesson of the year yesterday ahead of their ballet school's performance of Don Quixote in a fortnight. They had 'open doors' too so we got to see them in action. I love how much joy is on Rosie's face whatever she's doing and how focused Evie is.
Getting ready to road trip
Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend! We'll be spending part of ours planning for our summer road trip back to the UK in July. In the past we've driven from Finland to the UK with the girls at very young ages, and the dog, and we've camped too. Just to make it even more… Continue reading Getting ready to road trip
Taking Chances ~ Jo Jackson Photography
I can't believe we're almost at the end of January and a whole month into 2017! This month has flown by. For me, this year is all about taking chances and the first of those chances was to enter 50 of my photos into an international photography contest! It's a scary thing to put something… Continue reading Taking Chances ~ Jo Jackson Photography
That was the year that was, 2016
It's wild and windy here today as we come to the end of what has been a turbulent year for so many people. For my camera and I on the other hand it's been a far more positive year - about exploration and development, about trying new things and changing for the better. I worked… Continue reading That was the year that was, 2016
