Climbing Schiehallion ~ Rannoch, Scotland

Today I did a thing. A big thing. Today I climbed a mountain in memory of my darling Dad. The Scottish Munroe, Schiehallion, which I grew up seeing and never managed to climb. Until today that is.

My wonderful husband climbed up with me, held my hand when I almost lost my nerve, encouraged me, supported me and was definitely a huge part of my making the summit at all. ❤

Sadly it wasn’t the sunny day we were hoping for, we were walking through mist and cloud for most of it but there were some breaks in the cloud when we reached the summit and I was able to take a couple of photos of the stunning view.

I ache everywhere and my emotions are all over the place now that I’m back at the cottage we’re staying in but I’m so proud of myself for doing it, for not giving up when it got hard (which it did, several times!) and for raising money for charity at the same time.

We can all do more than we think we can, we just need to put off doing things ‘one day’ and do them now. ❤
